Job Title: Male CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) for School Bus Nurse Position: Special Case, Heavy lifting involved.

Location: Washington, DC. Must be Licensed in DC.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Male Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA, Must be Licensed in DC.) to join our team as a School Bus Nurse in Washington, DC. In this role, the CNA will be responsible for providing basic healthcare support and ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their bus rides to and from school. concerns or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with basic healthcare needs during transit, such as administering medications, managing allergies, and providing first aid when necessary. Heavy lifting involved for this Special Case.
  • Monitor students’ health conditions for any signs of distress or medical concerns while on the bus.
  • Respond to medical emergencies (such as injury or sudden illness) in a calm, efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for each student under your care.
  • Communicate with parents, guardians, and school staff about students’ health issues, treatments, or concerns.
  • Assist students with special needs or mobility challenges as necessary to ensure their safety and comfort during the ride.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all students during their bus ride to and from school.
  • Collaborate with school staff to address specific healthcare needs, such as chronic conditions or special requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with medical practices and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted CNA certification in the state of Washington, DC.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Prior experience working with children or in a pediatric healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic healthcare practices, including administering medication and performing first aid.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with children and parents.
  • Ability to handle emergencies and provide immediate care in high-pressure situations.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining strong professional relationships with school staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods, while remaining attentive to the needs of the students.
  • Capacity to respond quickly and efficiently to medical emergencies.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, PRN

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
